Chapter 1367

---

Joselyn appeared uneasy, her lips pressed together as she struggled to speak.
Wallace’s brow furrowed slightly. “Speak freely, Joselyn. You are safe here.”
“Yes, Father.”
Joselyn rose, her resolve evident, and pointed directly at Elsa. “In truth, it was Miss Austin who did it.”
“What?”
“It was really Elsa!”
“I had a feeling it was her; she’s always harbored resentment towards Hannah because of Remington!”
As shock rippled through the room, whispers erupted among the attendees.
Elsa stared at Joselyn in disbelief. “Joselyn! Why would you falsely accuse me?”
Joselyn looked helpless, shrinking back. “It’s something that cannot remain hidden, Miss Austin… I don’t want to see you continue making mistakes!”
Her words were suggestive, stirring curiosity among everyone.
Joselyn glanced nervously at Elsa. “My sister scolded me but Miss Austin consoled me later. But then, out of the blue, Miss Austin approached me, saying my sister was bullying me and she wanted payback by embarrassing her at the race! She wanted to humiliate my sister big time at the horse race!”
With fingers clasped, Joselyn seemed frightened but shifted blame to Elsa. “I told Miss Austin I couldn’t go along with it. I explained my sister just has a bad temper and that it was nothing personal. Plus, horse racing’s risky. If something went wrong, we’d be in trouble. I tried to talk Miss Austin out of it But when she saw I wasn’t on board, she just stormed off in a huff Wallace looked peeved. His tone was harsh. “If this was happening, why didn’t you speak up sooner?”

Joselyn paled. “I… I thought… Maybe Miss Austin had dropped the plan after our talk, so I didn’t bring it up… I mean, she’s an Austin and I didn’t want to stir up trouble for you, Father.”
 ‘s
“What trouble could you possibly bring?”
Wallace’s eyes bore into the Austins. “They’re the ones who should worry! If they’re scheming behind our backs, they’ll face the music when it comes out!”
Elsa was almost speechless, her fingers shaking as she pointed at Joselyn. “You… It was all you! You invited me to your room to talk about hurting Miss Moore! I said no! You even urged me not to hesitate. I refused your idea! How can you twist things like this?”
Even if Elsa wasn’t sharp, she caught on. She stared wide-eyed at Joselyn. “It was you! You were the one aiming to harm Miss Moore, weren’t you? Did you use my name to plant toxins in her horse, trying to frame me?”
With a fragile look, Joselyn swayed, barely holding up. “I’m from the Compton family and, despite my issues with my sister, we stick together! When you approached me last time, I didn’t agree and I stayed silent, which showed you respect. I can’t believe you’re trying to flip the script and pin it on me now!”
Someone from the Lyons family had footage from the corridor that day.
The video showed Elsa heading into Joselyn’s room.
With the evidence solid, Elsa was left speechless, tears streaming down her face.
Suddenly, Rhett stood up and declared, “It was me!”
Elsa, still crying, stared at him in disbelief. “Rhett?”
